Remembering Sherry Heine

July 17, 2025

Sherry was a founding member of HCP.  She acted as our treasurer (she worked in a bank, so a good choice!) and made sure we got our charitable number and everything set up with the government – no small job!

It turned out she was a great actor too, appearing in our first ever show – Riverview, Tape 23 along with Rebekah Walker, which was one of the one acts we did for Vaudeville.  She went on to take leading roles in The Christmas Bus, Plaza Suite and Dumped.  Sherry acted as Stage Manager for The Best Christmas Pageant Ever in 2009.

She and Vern moved to St. Jacobs and Sherry got involved with the Elmira Theatre Company but she did miss us, she said, a number of times.  If you look at the professional script from Bare, Bear Bones, you’ll notice her name beside ‘props’ as Elmira was the first theatre company to perform Michael Grant’s play.

Sherry was a wonderful, fun person to work with and she gave a lot to HCP.  We missed her over the years.  HCP members send their condolences to Vern and family.
